How’s February treating you?
I love the new year. It’s a time to reflect on the previous year, spend time with family and friends, and then look towards the future.
You know what I hate? February 6th. I mean, winter STILL SEEMS to be here. It’s dreary, wet, and cold. I find myself longing for spring. Longing to be further into my goals. Longing for that next vacation. Dealing with grumpy kids who are just waiting for spring break. All while work is saying, “New year! New goals! Let’s work harder than we ever have before!”
It’s gross. That’s what it is.
So, what do you do when you are in the gross? This is where mindset comes in.
Mindset, is how seriously you take yourself.
Do you believe you are ready for that promotion? Then raise your hand for the next hard project.
Do you believe you are doing your best as a parent? Then give yourself some grace, because you are.
Do you believe you can achieve that degree? We are in the middle of open-enrollment, pick the hard classes next.
Do you believe you can lose 10 pounds? Then give yourself some grace, walk a little, and make a good food choice for today.
Listen, February sucks. But if you don’t take your own goals seriously, who will?
Show up for the future you. You are worth it.
